Jimmy Green’s story is one of discovery and destiny. It took him 30 years in the business, learning virtually every aspect of the gem and jewelry industry to discover his destiny as founder and owner of J. Green Jewelers. A dream brought to fruition through incentive, initiative, imagination, and inventiveness; four little words that yield a lot of power and inspiration.

“Jimmy lives by those four words,” says Walter deCremieux, master designer for J. Green Jewelers. “We’ve seen them appear as refrigerator art, inscribed on notepads in the office, and uttered with reverence and respect over and over again.”

It was Jimmy’s vision and passion for the trade, coupled with his mantra -- incentive, initiative, imagination, and inventiveness that encouraged him and a dedicated team to embark on a new course.

From classic and timeless to trendsetting high fashion jewelry

“Over the years we have earned the loyalty of many clients that now consider us their family jeweler,” says Green. J. Green Jewelers’ 5,000 sq. ft. jewelry salon showcases exclusive designer collections, estate jewelry, fine timepieces, and diamonds. Located in The Vineyards at the corner of Loop 1604 and Blanco Road, J. Green Jewelers will feature some of the finest and most diverse creations of Sir Zoltan David, Jenny Perl, Philip Zahm, Stefan Hafner, Bellarri, Kathrine Baumann Beverly Hills, Roberto Coin and Tacori.

More than 100 years combined experience and jewelry expertise

It was another well-known jeweler, Ben Adams, who first discovered Green’s natural talents. “I tried to sell him a $3,000 suit in 1974 at an upscale men’s clothing store,” says Green, “And, before I knew it I was working for him at Frost Bros. selling precious jewels.”

Jimmy stayed at Frost’s for 10 years and then was hired by Dennis Jewelers as general manager. It was there that Jimmy mastered the art of negotiation and honed his skills as buyer, designer, seller and operator. “I’m very proud to have been associated with the Dennis family for 20 years. It was a privilege to learn the skills and trade standards of the jewelry business from a family rooted in honor and integrity. I hold a very high esteem for Mr. Dennis. I believe we share a strong mutual respect for one another,” emphasizes Green. He’s also grateful for the friendships and business alliances he forged that have proven timeless.

Now, Jimmy and his handpicked players operate like a football team; the game plan is to score a touchdown on the new venture which will feature not only their talents, but the some of the finest jewelry you can find. They share not only a rich knowledge and understanding of the business, but a rare respect and admiration for one another, as well as tremendous respect for the Dennis family.

Together they have more than 100 collective years experience and expertise. As a team, they know how to design, make, price, package and deliver it so that customers keep coming back. “Walter’s designs are works of genius, Oscar Villarreal, Jr., is a master craftsman. Bobby Seiler is the “captain,” the man that keeps the team going,” adds Green.

     J. Green Jewelers caters to a variety of clientele from the first-time buyer to local and international celebrities including sultans, country singing superstars, sports heroes and movie icons. What is truly unique, and very sincere, is that every customer at J. Green Jewelers is treated like a famous person, whether your purchase is $50 or $1.5million. There is no purchase is too small or job too menial.

Green’s philosophy for success is simple, “provide the finest jewelers, designers and value in the world, and deliver it with first-class, quality service.”

A Business setting of Old World Charm, with some Divine Inspiration

Exquisite. A single word that eloquently describes the classic artistry that went into every detail of J. Green Jewelers’ salon. It’s a business setting with a Venetian influence that speaks of old world charm and master craftsmen. Green supervised every detail from the walls of Venetian Plaster in the conference rooms, every tile and handmade Italian brick, to the barreled copper ceilings and copper panel inlays on the display cases.

“Whether you’re a first time buyer or an experienced collector, we want our clients to be completely at ease. Our private rooms allow us to focus on one customer at a time. We want the experience to be relaxing and fun, and we want to assure our clients that they will receive the focus and attention they deserve,” insists Green. The private salons are sound-proofed, superbly decorated in keeping with the Venetian theme.

Before you ever lay eyes on the lavish collections of precious gems and jewels, the experience, just walking through the double cast-iron Cantera doors will take your breath away.

The moment you walk in, your eyes are drawn upward to feast upon an original work of art by Walter deCremieux entitled, “The Pearl Maidens.” Like the early 14th century Italian frescos, it’s a work of art definitely derived from divine inspiration.

As master designer for J. Green Jewelers, deCremieux has come a long way from his early days on Wall Street working in New York City. After leaving Wall Street, he worked as lead designer for the celebrated costume jewelry firm, Weiss & Company, where he was credited numerous times in VOGUE magazine for his talent. From there he designed for one of the world’s most famous jewelers, which he is still too modest to reveal.

Master craftsmanship and attention to detail

“As a team we work in unison, every cog operates in perfect precision,” adds deCremieux. “We constantly affirm one another,” says Oscar Villarreal, Jr., master craftsman. “We actually can’t wait to get to work, how many people can say that?”

When you do business with a jeweler, they should educate and inform you on the purchase you are making, and that comes with a lot of questions. Oscar is the inquirer – How will it be worn? Casual wear? Daily wear? If daily, what type of work do you do? What type of metal are you considering?

If deCremieux is the architect, then Villarreal, Jr. is the engineer. As the apprentice of George Dennis, Sr., Oscar learned the art of crafting and patience. “He’d give me a chain, cut it into eight pieces and would have me repair it without any evidence of repair. I worked for 8 hours making that chain perfect, then he’d cut it again and have me do it over. It was the greatest lesson I ever learned –that practice makes perfect and that a true craftsman must have patience to gain perfection,” says Villarreal, Jr. Now, a master craftsman with over 25 years’ experience, he is as comfortable with a simple repair as he is gifted when creating a spectacular, custom piece of jewelry.

The focus is on the total customer experience

As director of manufacturing operations Bobby Seiler’s focus is on the total customer experience. After 30 years in the business he knows that the purchase of fine jewelry is an important investment and equally important is the decision of where you’re going to make that purchase and who you are going to be doing business with.

“Our settings are created so that the stones shine. The stones are definitely the focal point, but it takes all of us to produce the end product,” says Seiler. But it is my role to determine the exact size and color of the stones, the amount of metal to ensure that the stones, setting and metal are exactly right, no less than perfect for the finished piece.”

“We believe that the right jeweler should be one you can rely on for all your jewelry purchases, year after year,” emphasizes Seiler. “From the gifts you buy for your loved ones to the pieces you purchase for yourself. Your jeweler should be there to guide you through every step of the process.”

“Sometimes it feels as though we’re on the same level as a doctor, lawyer or accountant,” adds Seiler. “Our clients trust us; just like those professionals, we have mastered a unique and specialized trade. We even make house calls.”

“It seems most every diamond dealer and vendor in the industry knows Jimmy and Bobby,” says Villarreal, Jr. “Bobby is quality control, nothing leaves our jewelers’ craft room unless Bobby approves it, and he is a perfectionist.”

"We’re a great team and we enjoy playing off each other’s strengths,” says Seiler.

A Jeweler with a sterling reputation

Jimmy has earned a sterling reputation within the industry and now J. Green Jewelers is primed to set new standards for the fine jewelry industry. J. Green Jewelers offers complete service including appraisals, jewelry and watch repair, jewelry cleaning and polishing.

“Maintaining fine jewelry becomes important after the purchase. We are available to clean, size, engrave, restring or remount jewelry. We also have two GIA graduate gemologists on site,” says Green. Their expertise with diamonds and colored gemstones is a valuable tool for customers contemplating a purchase. A full gemological lab enables the gemologists to educate the client as well as provide insurance, liquidation and full estate appraisal services. They are familiar with the various types of precious and semi-precious stones used in fine jewelry and can explain how to care for and clean each piece.

In addition to the exclusive collections of Sir Zoltan David, Jenny Perl, Philip Zahm, Stefan Hafner, Bellarri, Kathrine Baumann Beverly Hills, Roberto Coin and Tacori, J. Green Jewelers will showcase jeweled, hand-made designer knives by William Henry.

     J. Green Jewelers, located at The Vineyards in Stone Oak, is a 5,000 square-foot diamond and fine jewelry design salon. Jimmy Green, owner of J. Green Jewelers offers a private studio environment with world-class jewelry designers on site and unparalleled access to the finest jewels the world has to offer.
